There’s something uniquely thrilling about stepping onto a plane bound for Las Vegas, surrounded by friends and familiar faces from the gaming world. That shared sense of excitement, the chatter about what’s to come, and the anticipation of reconnecting with peers from across the globe, it’s what makes G2E such a special fixture in the calendar.
There truly is no conference quite like G2E. It’s not just the scale or the innovation on display, but the unmistakable atmosphere that only Las Vegas can offer. That said, this year had a slightly different feel. In my opinion, it was quieter, somehow. It wasn’t only G2E itself, but the city too. The usually buzzing strip felt a little less busy, so much so, I could even get a restaurant reservation at Yardbird and Milos on the same day of booking. Now anyone that attends G2E will know that usually – this is no mean feat.
Yet even in a quieter Vegas, GameOn made plenty of noise of our own.
Meaningful Meetings and Exciting Launches
For the GameOn team, the week was packed with productive conversations covering everything from fractional CMO support and public relations strategies to social media growth and the launch of GO Intel.
GO Intel is built by industry strategists and powered by AI: insight that’s fast, focused, and firmly rooted in the realities of regulated markets. From market sizing and competitor moves to player behaviour and product opportunity, we deliver analysis that speaks the language of data and the needs of the business. It’s built on the same foundation that defines GameOn; insight, experience, and a deep understanding of what drives success in the gaming industry.
People and Partnerships
G2E is as much about people as it is about products, and this year reminded me just how special those connections are. From catching up with stateside partners we rarely see in person, to meeting clients face-to-face for the first time, every interaction reinforcing why our industry thrives on relationships.
Some of the standout moments included:
- IGT and Light & Wonder’s Ole Red event — the perfect start to the week. I might not be ready to line-dance at Gillie’s just yet, but I’ll leave that talent to Alex Lorimer and Adam Pentecost from Gaming Corps
- White Hat Gaming drinks, which propelled us into the night in true Vegas fashion
- Spotting the pink hair in a crowded room — if you know, you know
- Mike Tyson in a bathroom — a surreal but memorable Vegas encounter for one of our clients
- Lunch with Nik Robinson, where I enjoyed vegetables for the first time in four days
- Yardbird Finale – where we Flight Clubbed with our favourite end of conference buddies
Team Spirit and Takeaways
The highlight above all else was spending time with the incredible GameOn team — Andy Blackburn, Vikki McCausland, and Alex Wilson. Hearing firsthand the feedback on what we’re building and the impact we’re making as a team was reassuring and a very proud moment.
Even in a quieter Vegas, the conversations, the laughter, and the shared vision for what’s next made G2E 2025 one to remember. The industry may evolve, the city may shift, but the passion and camaraderie that fuel our industry remain stronger than ever.
